Generating light in dark times

The war unleashed by Russia is relentlessly destroying the infrastructure of peaceful cities and villages in Ukraine. For Ukrainians, winter in wartime becomes a true ordeal: millions of people face daily power and heating outages.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have been consistently implementing initiatives that help schools and hospitals across different regions of Ukraine withstand harsh winter conditions and continue operating.
A life-saving project with Politiken
In 2022–2023, thanks to the initiative and significant contribution of the newspaper Politiken, we implemented a project that helped Ukrainians in frontline cities and villages survive the winter in extremely difficult wartime conditions.
In just a month and a half, Politiken’s fundraising campaign collected 6.4 million DKK to purchase generators that we delivered across the entire country.

Transportation of generators to Ukraine
One of the leading journalists and driving forces behind the project, Michael Jarlner, together with Bevar Ukraine leaders Andrii Kuzmyn and Roman Mykyrenko, visited various regions of Ukraine where help was urgently needed and took part directly in delivering the generators. The campaign received wide public attention!
As part of the initiative, we organized the collection and transportation to Ukraine of generators, portable power stations, batteries, wood-burning stoves, firewood and pellets for heating, as well as thermoses and sleeping bags.
Delivery of generators across Ukraine
