DK-UA Career HUB: a new round, a strong community, and new opportunities for the professional development of Ukrainians in Denmark

Bevar Ukraine has officially launched the fifth round of DK-UA Career HUB—a program designed for Ukrainians in Denmark with an English level of B1 or higher who want to better understand the Danish labour market, develop their professional skills, and confidently build their careers in Denmark.

This new round places an even stronger emphasis on practical learning. Participants will engage in interactive assignments, meet industry experts, receive mentorship, and gain practical tools to help them navigate the Danish job market more effectively.

During the previous rounds, participants worked on developing competitive CVs, preparing for job interviews, strengthening their professional communication skills, and gaining a deeper understanding of the Danish labour market. The sessions were led by Maryna Sydorenko, Business English tutor and career coach, who helped participants take meaningful steps toward employment.

An important part of the program was the mentorship event, which brought together participants from previous rounds, mentors, and industry experts. Experienced Danish, international, and Ukrainian professionals with extensive knowledge of the Danish labour market shared their expertise and practical advice. Together, they explored topics such as personal branding, professional networking, LinkedIn profile optimization, and effective job search strategies.

A special highlight was the inspiring presentation by mentor and guest speaker Toke Bull, who shared his insights on career development, networking, and the opportunities available in the Danish labour market.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our mentors, speakers, HR professionals, recruiters, volunteers, and partners who made this program possible. Thanks to your dedication and generosity, participants have gained not only valuable knowledge but also greater confidence, meaningful professional connections, and new opportunities to advance their careers in Denmark.

As part of DK-UA Career HUB, we also hosted the lecture “Educational Opportunities for Ukrainians in Denmark: The First Step Towards a Successful Career,” delivered by Olena Løsholt, School Manager on Bornholm, HR Specialist at Campus Bornholm, and Chair of BHUF – Bornholm Hjælper Ukrainske Flygtninge.

During the session, participants learned about:

  • the first steps to starting an education in Denmark;
  • educational pathways and vocational opportunities available to Ukrainians;
  • special support programmes and opportunities;
  • the differences between education for people under 25 and adults over 25;
  • what vocational education and training (erhvervsuddannelser) is and why it can be one of the best pathways to employment.

The lecture also highlighted several in-demand professions, including chef, business and commerce, IT, and automotive mechanics.

DK-UA Career HUB is much more than a job search program. It is a growing community where people support one another, share experiences, and help Ukrainians successfully integrate into professional life in Denmark.

We look forward to welcoming new participants, creating new opportunities, and celebrating many more success stories. We are excited to begin the fifth round of DK-UA Career HUB and wish all participants inspiration, professional growth, and every success in their career journeys in Denmark.
