We held the international psychological conference “The Invisible Wounds of War,” which brought together around one hundred participants (both online and in person): psychological researchers, representatives of governmental and humanitarian institutions in Denmark and Ukraine, as well as representatives from business and the media.
The focus was on the psychological challenges of the war and support for Ukrainian displaced persons. With the increasing number of Ukrainians in Denmark, mental health should become a shared priority for research, municipalities, and the state. Bevar Ukraine brings partners together to build an effective system of psychological support for Ukrainians during the war.
Representatives at the conference included the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Denmark, Copenhagen Municipality, University of Copenhagen (Department of Psychology, CETAR), Uppsala University (Sweden), the Agency for International Recruitment and Integration, Danish Red Cross, Sandholm Center, Danish Refugee Council, Aarhus Municipality, Danish Center for Emotion-Focused Therapy, Headspace Denmark, Bevar Ukraine’s Leadership Academy, and others.
A special thanks to our tireless psychologists Inna Dolia, Yuna Lototska, Natalya Ben, Julia Dmukh, and the team of colleagues who lead psychological self-help groups across various regions of Denmark—for their professional contribution to strengthening the mental health of Ukrainians.
Thanks also to our donors for their support: Spar Nord Fonden and Rambøll Fonden.
